About us

Hello, and welcome to Dapor by Waymaker!

We are on a mission to connect home base caterers to home and corporate events.

Our Vision

To enable truly self-sustaining communities through technology based infrastructures.

Our Story

Needsbox

We started with a web-app that connected people to help one another.

Needsbox Rock!

We received some recognition and coverage for our work on Waymaker.

Needsbox in action!

Empowering communities with essential resources, support, and resilience during the challenges of COVID-19.

It's really meant a lot for us!

Perhaps the most meaningful testimony via WhatsApp, that affirmed our mission.
phrase

Till we meet again!

We retired Waymaker as a web-app after the end of its product life-cycle and pivoted into a platform with a greater social impact.

Meet Dapor

Dapor is a mobile app that:

  • Provides market visibility for aspiring home-based chefs to start a business with zero barrier to entry.
  • Provides market access for home-based caterers to serve corporate customers.
There are many homemakers, retirees, food enthusiasts, single parents etc. aspiring to sell home cooked food, or grow their home-based catering business.
And many individuals, young families looking for healthy home food options, or home and corporate events in need of food catering.
But they just don’t know each other…
The main challenge is, visibility. And there isn’t a suitable platform yet to effectively address this challenge. That’s why we are here!

A note from the Founder…

I am Arun (left) and standing next to me is Richard (right), and we have been friends for 16 good years.

We studied engineering, lived on campus, played futsal, organized events, and partied together. We both completed our Masters in Engineering and began an exciting career path that although deviated along the way, we stayed close friends throughout – I started off in Oil and Gas, took a turn into social works, and am now in tech doing product management, Richard on the other hand started off in Oil and Gas and has stayed through all the way, now as a professional engineer with pretty much all the certifications you could think of – although, he’d sound like a true startup guy today after the last few years of building social tech with me!

About 4 years ago, I had this vision of enabling truly self-sustaining communities through technology infrastructures, and I shared this vision to Richard – we were immensely aligned and hit it off with Waymaker – a peer-to-peer social help platform that picked up during the Covid pandemic.

Ever since, we’ve pivoted to what is now Dapor.
We imagine a world where communities create micro economies among themselves – buying and selling good and services, sharing, caring and serving one another.
We think technology, when used with an outcome in mind, can help achieve that.

That’s what we’ve set ourselves out to do, and we invite you to journey with us!
